The P.B. Dye Golf Club has a lot going for it. Most noticeably, it is always in excellent condition. Bentgrass from tee to green, the playing surfaces are country club plush. The service is excellent, and the price is reasonable.

The facility is a top spot for private, corporate, and charity outings, as well as banquets and weddings. Once you have tested and challenged the golf course, you will enjoy the fantastic food that is prepared by the Executive Chef on premises. The culinary staff’s talents far exceed any customary public course 19th hole. Most of the golfers that come from near and far have been delighted with the much-talked-about kosher hot dog on a warm pretzel roll.

In addition, the Golf Shop is one of the finest in the region with quality merchandise at quality prices. Custom club fitting, top of the line equipment, fine apparel, and plenty of golf accessories are available to help any level of golfers. The professional staff also offers golf instruction with video capabilities to improve anyone’s game.

The incredible panoramic view from the glass wall at the back of the clubhouse suggests you’re a million miles from any interstate. Sugarloaf Mountain looms in the background and a few upstart mountains of the Blue Ridge chain surround it, creating a setting unlike any within 20 minutes of the Beltway.

The same can be said for the course. P.B. Dye used his trademark triple-tiered greens, steep bunkers, grass swales deeper than a good wine cellar, and monstrous par 4s to an otherwise peaceful tract of land.

Perhaps the most memorable hole on the curse is the downhill, mid-iron par-3 11th, which plays to a green built up with railroad ties (a trait that P.B. inherited from his father, Pete) and guarded by water front, back, and left. It’s equal parts – beauty and demanding.

P.B.’s lasting tribute to the course will certainly be the artist’s touch he left behind. From many tees players can look out across the course and enjoy the creative beauty of the way P.B. sculpted the land.
